Best Party Hotels in the Mediterranean

Party-hopping meets island-hopping at these 21 buzzy hotels throughout the Mediterranean coasts of Spain, Turkey, Malta, and Greece.

  1. The luxury adult-only Ushuaïa is hands down the most stylish place to be for those wanting to be right in the throes of Ibiza’s world-famous nightlife. Not only does it host the best international DJs several times a week but also has all the ingredients for a world-class party-oriented stay, including rooms with DJ turntables, blackout curtains, erotica kits, high-tech amenities, and a striking design, along with two stylish pools; a rooftop bar with some of the best views around; and seven restaurants and bars -- all of which come at some of Ibiza's highest prices.

  2. The 493-room Hard Rock is -- along with neighboring Ushuaïa -- one of a handful of true luxury hotels in Ibiza. With its 16,000-square-foot spa, indoor and outdoor pools, rooms and suites with swim-up pools, five restaurants, Fender guitar rentals, curated playlists, and a Michelin-star chef, the Hard Rock draws a bevy of celebrity guests and well-heeled couples. The party-oriented property, located on Ibiza's largest beach, is visually arresting, and rooms are among the most stylish in the area. Be aware that planes can sometimes be heard landing at the nearby airport.

  3. This 298-room upscale beachfront property has a hip, mellow style, with poolside DJ sessions that are more relaxing than wild. Rooms are large, modern, and sleek, with flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, furnished balconies, and free Wi-Fi. While the pool is the place to hang out, the hotel also offers a swanky spa, a hopping beach club, a small fitness center, and a solid buffet restaurant. Located right on sandy Playa d’en Bossa, the Garbi is a short walk to some of Ibiza’s top nightclubs.

  4. The 546-room Spice Hotel & Spa is a luxury beachfront resort in Belek. This Moroccan-style resort draws families and guests looking to let loose, with weekly parties, nightly entertainment, a water park, and a game room. There's a chic spa plus a modern gym, tennis courts, and a soccer pitch on-site, as well. Richly decorated rooms have flat-screen TVs and many feature furnished sea-facing balconies. Villas have kitchens, pools, and saunas. This resort has several attractive restaurants and bars, plus a patisserie; breakfast and car services are free. There is a massive population of cats on the property, and some cleanliness issues have been reported.

  5. Located in a quiet area adjacent to famous Nikki Beach club, the 205-room ME Ibiza is one of the chicest properties in this part of the island. Minimalist all-white decor and soft lounge music lend this luxury property a relaxing, cool vibe, while top-notch services such as a private boat for day trips, rooftop massages, adult-only areas, and free yoga classes draw well-heeled couples and groups of friends. Rooms are hip and modern, with flat-screen TVs, mood lighting, minibars and iPod docks, but not all units have balconies and some may find the glass-enclosed showers lacking in privacy. It's also worth comparing rates with the nearby and just as luxurious Aguas de Ibiza, which has a more central location just off of Santa Eulalia’s main promenade.

  6. Housed in an iconic and charming Art Deco building, the 52-room Hotel Es Vive is a chic, upscale, party property in a quiet area a block from a sandy beach in Ibiza Town. Poolside DJ sessions, a top-notch restaurant, a famous nightclub, and a gorgeous all-white rooftop lounge with panoramic sea views make this one of the most sought-after hotels in Ibiza. Though many rooms are on the small side, decor is stylish, and amenities are up to date, including flat-screen TVs, minibars, free Wi-Fi, and air-conditioning; some have balconies with gorgeous views. All this style and cool atmosphere doesn’t come cheap, but the vast majority of guests agree that the experience is worth every dollar.

  7. The 129-room be.Hotel is a hip design property located inside a popular mall in bustling Paceville, near nightlife, the beach, and public transport. Rooms are trendy and stylish, with dark walls and floors, natural wood accents, and sleek bathrooms. But the thumping music from the mall can be heard from many rooms, and the many extra fees -- for in-room Wi-Fi, safes, electric kettles, and most TV channels -- may make guests feel nickel-and-dimed. The seasonal rooftop pool is a highlight here, with bay views and a bar serving cocktails and snacks, and the fitness center, while small, has a decent array of cardio and strength-training machines.

  8. The 184-room Sol Wave House is an upscale beachfront hotel attached to the Wave Entertainment Venue, a small water center with two wave pools. This hip property is a step above the average Magaluf hotel, with an infinity pool lined with cabanas, chill DJ sessions, and a young, lively crowd. All rooms are Junior Suites or Suites complete with basic kitchen facilities, flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi, large rainfall showers, and balconies; many have expansive pool and sea views. It's a fun, stylish pick with several dining options, free parking, and a central location right on the beach and in the heart of the party area, but guests only get discounted rates (not free tickets) to the wave pools.

  9. The 63-room THB Ocean Beach is an upper-middle-range, adult-only hotel with a seafront setting that makes for some great bay views. While away from the full-on party zone of central San Antonio, pool parties and the neighboring beach club make it a popular pick for fun-seeking groups and young couples. The hotel's cool, contemporary vibe is reflected in impressive architecture and chic, quirky interiors such as lip-shaped couches. The on-site restaurant is open all day, serving a breakfast until late for nighttime revelers and tapas during the day. However, given the simplicity of the rooms, rates are certainly on the high side.

  10. The 73-room Ionis Art Hotel appeals to younger travelers keen on experiencing the party life in Laganas. The mid-range property is decorated with modern decor and contemporary Greek art, and centrally located on a Laganas party strip. There's a nearby beach, on-site dining and a lively poolside snack bar, and a large pool area. Simple Asian-themed rooms have balconies and modern accents like iPhone docks and flat-screen TVs. The pool area tends to be noisy with music and partiers, and service gets mixed reviews.

  11. The 46-room Ibiza Sun Apartments is a small, upper-middle-range hotel with a great location a little set back from the main strip but within walking distance of famous clubs and the beach. Apartments here are clean and spacious with fully stocked kitchenettes, minimal and stylish decor, and solid amenities such as flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi (though service can sometimes be inconsistent), and air-conditioning. The hip pool deck -- complete with two small pools, a whirlpool, and comfy double loungers -- is the highlight here, but the hotel also features a small, bright fitness center, a popular Thai restaurant, and meeting rooms. Although the vibe is relaxing and quiet during the day, in the evenings there’s more of a party atmosphere, with house music playing around the pool.

  12. The 94-room Hotel Valentina is a trendy upper-middle-range hotel with modern design located in Paceville, an area known for its thronging nightlife. Taking inspiration from this hip location, sleek rooms have wall-mounted flat-screen TVs, colorful LED lights in bathrooms, and furnished balconies in some. The rooftop infinity pool with lounge chairs plus a stylish bar overlook the city, and the 24-hour lobby bar caters to late-night revelers. A modern dining room with ample natural light serves breakfast, but not lunch or dinner. And the lobby provides an airy space to linger plus a library area with Apple computers and book-lined shelves.

  13. The 100-room Migjorn Ibiza Suites & Spa is an upper-middle-range, stylish, family-friendly property that is centrally located within a short walk from nightlife and the beach. Contemporary duplex and triplex apartments offer fully stocked kitchenettes, living rooms, and furnished terraces, along with free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs, and air-conditioning. This hotel has two pool areas, one with DJ sessions and another quieter pool complete with a kids' section and a playground. There is also a chic Mediterranean restaurant, a sun-filled gym, and a spa with a hydrotherapy area that's free for all guests.

  14. Hotel Club Bahamas Ibiza is a 514-room upper-middle-range property that includes all-inclusive options, a pool, a spa, a fitness center, direct access to a sandy beach, and two restaurants. It offers such family-friendly amenities as a kids' club with a playground, and a game room, but it's within walking distance of Ibiza’s top clubs, and so it draws many young couples and groups of friends, as well as families. Rooms are bright and contemporary, with balconies and aquamarine accents, and come with flat-screen TVs, coffeemakers, and mini-fridges. Be aware that the music around the pool can be loud, and the proximity of the airport means planes can be heard as they take off and land.

  15. The all-inclusive, 534-room Botanik Lara is an upscale resort on Lara Beach, a 30-minute drive from the center of Antalya. Most rooms are modern, and all have furnished balconies, some with beautiful sea views. Other rooms, though aren't quite up to the level of luxury the hotel claims. Facilities include outdoor and indoor pools, a full-service spa, six restaurants and nine bars.

  16. The 245-room Sirenis Hotel Club Tres Carabelas & Spa is a popular all-inclusive right on the beach. Rooms are spacious and bright, and include balconies, flat-screen TVs, mini-fridges, and air-conditioning. The upper-middle-range property includes an outdoor pool with whirlpool and snack bar, a fitness center with cardio- and weight-training equipment, a good buffet-style restaurant, and daily entertainment. The hotel is a popular pick for bachelor and bachelorette parties, which can mean noise at times. Sister property Sirenis Hotel Goleta & Spa is located next door, and while its rooms are more modern, it does not offer all-inclusive rates. Guests at either hotel are permitted to use the facilities of the other.

  17. Popular with young people, the spacious and often busy Majestic Spa Hotel is a mid-range property located right in the center of Laganas, offering guests easy access to the bustling nightlife as well as the nearby beach. The on-site restaurants and bars operate on an all-inclusive basis. There's a large pool area, as well as a spa offering a variety of treatments as well as an indoor pool, sauna, Turkish bath, and fitness center. Rooms have balconies, but are underwhelming decor-wise, with tile floors, outdated polyester bedspreads, and standard wood furniture. Due to its location on the main strip and its popularity with young people, the hotel itself can be noisy, and many of the public areas are not always clean. The hotel also charges additional fees for a number of services, including pool towel rentals, air-conditioning, and Wi-Fi.

  18. The Ryans Ibiza Apartments is a mid-range, adult-only party hotel geared toward young travelers. The heart of the hotel is an indoor/outdoor restaurant and bar that opens up onto a terrace with a pool surrounded by loungers and umbrellas. The hotel has events -- like live DJs -- day and night. There's also a roof terrace with loungers and a hot tub. Its 77 one- to three-bedroom apartments are roomy and feature pleasant, contemporary decor with bright accents, pullout sofas, fully equipped kitchenettes, and free Wi-Fi, though daily housekeeping costs an extra fee.

  19. The three-pearl azuLine Hoteles Mar Amantis I & II is very much a hotel of two halves, one that appeals to older couples and families with small kids, and the other geared toward more raucous groups of younger guests. Its location on the beach at the quieter end of Sant Antoni also means the party-central neighborhood of West End is a cab ride away. The all-inclusive plan appeals to those on a budget, and resort-style facilities like swimming pools and a kids' club check the boxes for families and younger groups.

  20. The all-inclusive Zante Plaza Hotel & Apartments has a central location (walking distance from the beach and strip) and 65 apartment-style rooms with pool-view balconies, flat-screen TVs, and simple decor. The mid-range hotel is popular with the younger crowd for its proximity to the bustling nightlife of Laganas, and its small but attractive pool area and patio (there's also a separate quiet pool). The on-site restaurant uses ingredients from the hotel-owned farm for many of its meals. Public areas and rooms can often be noisy due to the younger clientele and the nearby action on the main strip.

  21. The 175-Invisa Hotel Es Pla is an adult-only value hotel located a short walk from the beach and world-famous nightclubs. There is a fun party atmosphere during the day, with activities, music, and games around the main pool, and a snack bar serving drinks and simple eats. Additionally, there’s another smaller, quieter pool in the back for those who want to relax before heading out for another long night in town. The restaurant serves a decent buffet for all three meals, and the small but modern fitness center is a pleasant spot for a workout. Rooms are clean but basic, with simple wood furniture, air-conditioning, and flat-screen TVs.
